Overview and planned communication

How do you ensure that students receive the right information at the right time? Read more about the possibilities in a communication plan here.

Examples from study environments

If you have a good example of how you have incorporated the following into your studies, please contact AAU Student Guidance.

What does a communication plan include?

It is important that the new students quickly understand the structure and interdisciplinarity of the programme as well as the link between theory and practice. To avoid information overflow and ensure that important information is actually received, work can be done on the timing of the various information.

This may be done, e.g. through a communication plan which shall include, in terms of content, at least:

  • The academic content
  • Requirements and expectations for students on the programme
  • What it means to be a student on the programme
  • Specific information needed to get started (curriculum, teaching plan, literature/source lists)
  • Overview of information about resources, facilities, and contacts (premises, equipment, TAPs, VIPs, coordinators, etc.)
  • The tasks of the various resources
  • Most welcome, peer-to-peer presentations

If you want to know more

It will be the responsibility of the head of studies to ensure that the initiative is taken in the preparation of this communication plan.
