Special development courses

Examples from study environments
If you have a good example of how you have incorporated the following into your studies, please contact AAU Student Guidance.
What can a particular course of development involve?
A crucial prerequisite for a good education is that you as a student have the necessary prerequisites in place. Even if the formal prerequisites are met, there may be a need for further qualification/development, which is not possible before study start, as it is not yet known who will have this need, or because the development process is parallel to the degree programme.
An example could be that students from other educational institutions who do not start the first semester (e.g. guest students or master's students) follow a special PBL intro course. Another example could be that students who score low in study start tests complete follow-up courses in October/November.
The purpose of activities of this nature is to ensure that all students have real competencies in place early in the programme. This reduces the likelihood of dropping out due to the academic level being too high or the students not having the necessary skills or support.
If you want to know more
It will be the responsibility of the head of studies to ensure that these special development programmes are initiated.
